This tournament is for ages 8U to 14U.

Rings and banners will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place in each division. Time limits will be 60 minutes finish the inning for our 8U and 10u age group.12U will be 60 minute finish the inning and 70 minute bracket play.14U time limit will be 85 minutes or 6 innings all day.  2 pool play games and then into single elimination format.

Tournament rules


  • Be prepared to play 15 minutes after previous game ends. 
  • Grand Slam will provide 2 game balls for each game. Teams need to supply two new baseballs at the plate meeting and be prepared to throw in game conditioned baseballs afterwards. Help retrieve foul balls.  
  • Gate fees are $10 for the tournament for ages 13 and up. Cash and Venmo accepted. Ages 12 and under are no charge.
  • All gate fees are non refundable. 
  • Rosters must be entered on the Grand Slam website prior to the first pool play game.
  • Grand Slam follows the DP Flex rule.
  • No metal spikes are allowed until players are in the 14U age division.
  • C class and below can have a maximum of two pick up players. 
  • Players who have been picked up are only allowed to pitch if they came from another C class roster.
  • Time limits are announced at the plate meeting.
  • If there is a discrepancy in the time limit, ask the umpire to stop the clock and call for a director or UIC immediately. This MUST be resolved before teams leave the field!
  • 8U "Runner leaving the base rule"
  •         C class: runners must wait until the ball crosses the plate. B class: Players may leave once the ball leaves the pitching coaches hand.
  • 8U run limit is a maximum of 7 runs per inning
  • Pay attention to your post game score cards before signing the game card. Make sure score is correct! 
  • Protest fees are $300 cash up front no exceptions. You get this back for a successful protest. Protest must be done between the 1st pitch & last pitch and it is encouraged to do as early as possible if you think you will be protesting. Protest must be done during the game. 
  • Extra innings - Last batted out from the previous inning on 2nd base with 1 out. 
  • 2nd Extra inning - Last 2 batted outs from previous inning to be put on second and third with 1 out. 
  • Head first slides are legal to any base unless a face mask, jaw flap, or chin strap is worn. 1st offense is a warning, next offense is an out. 
  • Grand Slam plays by National Federation High School rules...with the exception of rules listed on the back of the score card or corporate Grand Slam website. State Directors have the discretion to modify corporate rules. 
  • Teams get 3 passes for coaches. Coaches must have these passes when entering the gate or be prepared to pay the gate worker. We DO NOT want there to be any confusion. 
  • Make checks out to "Grand Slam Alabama" and pay your field director no later than start of 2nd pool play game. You can also pay on the website cash or Venmo.  
  • There is a director at every tournament site. If you have an issue, stop the game and call for a director. We can't help you after the game is over. 
  • Be respectful to the gate workers. 





Any pattern of badgering of an umpire, other fans, coaches, players, directors, gate workers, etc...will result in being escorted from the park by the local PD. Coaches, if you put your hands on an umpire, you will be prosecuted. Tournament Directors have the discretion to have anyone removed from the park. Gate fees are nonrefundable.
