     Welcome to the "Back to School Bash 4"

Coaches & Parents, welcome back! We hope that everyone is getting settled into school. We hope everyone has a great fall in school! 

This also means it's time for a little Grand Slam baseball! We are so excited to be hosting you August 22/23! 

Everyone needs to have their roster uploaded ASAP! 

For those of you who are new, all of our events are prepay. There are no exceptions to this. If your teams collects money via Venmo or cash for entry fee payments, you need to make these arrangements early. 

Teams need to be paid by Monday night the 17th at 7:00. 

Also, all schedule request need to be in by Monday night the 17th. Please very detailed with any schedule request. (Please note, we will do our best to work around football but at the end of the day we have to do what's best for the event to run properly.)

Schedules will be out on Tuesday the 18th. . 

A complete list of rules and information will be sent out later in the week after schedules are released. 


There are 3 options to make your payment

Deadline to pay is the Sunday before the event - Teams who have not paid will not be included on the schedule.

Reminder, it is Grand Slam MS policy that teams who drop out of an event after the schedule is released will still owe the entry fee & the team will not be scheduled in an event until that fee is pay. For special circumstances that may occur, please reach out to the Tournament Director .

Teams who decide not to play & withdraw before the schedule is released will receive a credit toward their next Grand Slam event. 

In the instance that the event is canceled for any reason, teams will also receive a credit toward their next event based on the amount of games they played in the event.

CONDUCT

  • Coaches, if we have to remove one of your fans from the complex, the head coach will also be ejected for that game. Fan will not be allowed to return for that event. 

  • Any pattern of badgering of an umpire, other fans, coaches, players, directors, gate workers, etc...will result in being escorted from the park by the local PD. Coaches/Spectators, if you put your hands on an umpire/tournament staff, you will be prosecuted & vice versa for umpires/tournament staff to coaches/spectators. Tournament Directors have the discretion to have anyone removed from the park.

COMPLEX RULES

  • Any patron that uses profanity toward a gate worker or enters without paying will be removed from the park by the local PD.

  • No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed

  • No sunflower seeds are allowed at any complex. Teams could face a $500 fine from the city and/or a forfeit from the tournament. This is for players, coaches & fans. 

  • Music must be played at a respectful volume

  • NO steel spikes at any complex. 

  • Armbands must be shown to re-enter the complex

PROTEST

  •  Protest fees are $300 - No exceptions. 

  • For protest of players not on the roster or illegal age or any other player eligibility question, the protest must be initiated from the 1st pitch of the game to before the 1st pitch of the 2nd at bat of the player who is being protested.  Once a player has had 1 pitch thrown to him of his second at bat, he is no longer eligible to be protested. 

  • Any other protest that isn't a player eligible protest, must be done between the first pitch of the game and end of the game(unless the last out of the game causes a protestable situation,in this case the coach who wants to protest must call it to the umpires attention before they leave the field).You get the $300 back for a successful protest. 

GENERAL RULES

  • We will provide baseballs for each game. However, teams need to be prepared to throw in game balls if the umpire runs out until we get more. Also, teams are responsible for retrieving foul balls & returning them to the field.  

  • 13U grade exception players playing down in 12U must use a -5 or -3 bat

  • Pay attention to your post game score cards before signing. When you sign you are approving the score and all pitching records. 

  • Catchers must wear a helmet that covers the ears. 

  • Run rules are 12 after 3 .... 10 after 4 ....8 after 5

  • Extra innings - Bases Loaded with 1 Out - Last 3 batters placed on base. 

  • 3rd to 1st pick off is legal. 

  • Head first slides are legal to any base unless a face mask, cflap, or chin strap is being worn. First offense is a team warning. The 2nd offense is an out. This only applies to ages 12 & under. 

  • 9-A will have a 6 run per inning limit in pool & bracket 

  • Grand Slam plays by National Federation High School rules...with the exception of rules listed here, Grand Slam MS Rules or corporate Grand Slam. State Directors have the discretion to modify corporate rules. 

  • Always keep birth certificates on hand. Digital copies are allowed. 

  • Teams who have players that meet the grade exception (hold back) must have a progress report, report card or letter from the school confirming current grade if challenged. 

If you have any on field issues, please make sure to contact a director before leaving the field or during the game. We can't help you once the game is over & teams have left the field.
