Grand Slam MS Rules

GRAND SLAM SPORTS TOURNAMENTS HAS INSTITUTED A RULE KNOWN AS THE "COACHES/UMPIRES LINE" RULE.  NO COACH OR INDIVIDUAL MAY CROSS THE 1ST OR 3RD BASE FOUL LINE AND ENTER THE FIELD OF PLAY AT ANY TIME DURING A GAME UNLESS THEY ARE DOING A MOUND VISIT OR ATTENDING TO AN INCAPACITATED OR INJURED PLAYER.  THERE WILL BE NO CALLING TIME AND SUBSEQUENTLY ENTERING THE FIELD OF PLAY TO ARGUE AN UMPIRES CALL.  YOU MAY ASK FOR TIME AND IF TIME IS GRANTED YOU ARE ALLOWED TO GO AS FAR AS THE 1ST OR 3RD BASE FOUL LINE WHERE AT THIS TIME THE UMPIRE WILL ADDRESS YOU, BUT HE OR SHE UMPIRE WILL ALSO NOT BE ALLOWED TO CROSS THE FOUL LINE TOWARDS YOUR DESIGNATED DUGOUT.  THE PURPOSE OF THIS RULE IS TO TRY AND TAKE AWAY THE "CONFRONTATIONAL NATURE" OF THESE TYPE OF INCIDENTS.  THE FIRST OFFENSE OF BREAKING THIS RULE WILL BE A WARNING AND THE COACH THEN RESTRICTED TO THE DUGOUT.  ANY SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC EJECTION FOR THE DURATION OF THAT PARTICULAR GAME AS WELL AS THE NEXT GAME THE TEAM IS SCHEDULED TO PLAY.

Conduct

  • Coaches, if we have to remove one of your fans from the complex, the head coach will also be ejected for that game. Fan will not be allowed to return for that event.

  • Any pattern of badgering of an umpire, other fans, coaches, players, directors, gate workers, etc...will result in being escorted from the park by the local PD. Coaches/Spectators, if you put your hands on an umpire/tournament staff, you will be prosecuted & vice versa for umpires/tournament staff to coaches/spectators. Tournament Directors have the discretion to have anyone removed from the park.

Rosters

  • Event Rosters will be enforced. It's up to you to double check them & if you are having any issues you need to let us know. We encourage you to move players from "Pending" to "approved".

  • Players that show as "pending" are not ineligible.

  • Any other protest that isn't a player eligible protest, must be done between the first pitch of the game and end of the game(unless the last out of the game causes a protestable situation,in this case the coach who wants to protest must call it to the umpires attention before they leave the field). You get the $300 back for a successful protest.

_____________________

Thank you for choosing to play in Super Slam #1. One of the biggest tournaments in the South every year!

With over 220 teams registered, we have to use every park available.

Three divisions will be playing in the All Turf facility in Vicksburg.

Those three divisions are 10-A, 11AA, 13A.

We understand this isn't the most convenient for everyone playing but it is part of big events. We used it for Fall State & will also use it for Boys of Summer.

There are a few reasons these 3 divisions were chosen.

1. These 3 divisions fit there based on number of teams and field space.

2. Geographically for teams in this division, it involved the least amount of teams not as close to Vicksburg as the Jackson Metro is.

3. These 3 divisions were not chosen to play their for Fall State & will NOT be chosen to play their for Boys of Summer in May.

We wanted to give you as much heads up as possible so you could make arrangements.

Thank you for understanding & we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you have any questions or concerns, please make those known to your head coach & he can reach out to us with those.

NOTE: Local teams in the Jackson Metro will have the option to play Friday night depending on how many games we play Friday night. If you can, put that in your schedule request. Just note, just because you request it does not mean it will happen. Not all teams will be able to do this...that information will be available next week.
