Grand Slam Arkansas – Event Information & Rules

Arkansas Roster Rules Update

1. Roster Lock

Team rosters will lock at 8:00 AM Saturday morning, or one hour before the event begins, whichever comes first.

Once rosters are locked, teams will not be allowed to add players during the event.

The only exception is in the case of an injury that occurs during the event.

If a player is injured during the event:

  • The injury must occur at the event
  • The injury must be reported to the Site Director or the UIC
  • A replacement player who has not played in the event may only be added if the team’s lineup drops below 9 players


If the lineup does not drop below 9 players, no replacement player will be allowed.

2. Roster Protest Deadline

All roster protests must be made before the end of the 2nd inning.

No roster protests will be accepted after the second inning of play.

3. Coaches 

Starting immediately, only 4 coaches will be allowed in the dugout.

Of those 4, only 2 coaches will be allowed on the field while their team is on defense.

• A pitching coach will be allowed to sit in a chair or bucket just outside the dugout door

• A fielding coach will also be allowed outside the dugout


⚠️ Enforcement:

  • 1st offense – Warning
  • 2nd offense – Ejection


Payments. 

• A $10 fee will be added to all online payments.

• Teams may also pay in cash before their first game.


Arkansas Rules (Different from National Rules)

Head First Slides

Head first sliding is legal with any helmet except a fully masked helmet.

International Tiebreaker (Arkansas Rule)

Bases will be loaded with 1 out.

The last 3 batted outs will go to the base paths:

• 1st batted out → 3rd base

• 2nd batted out → 2nd base

• 3rd batted out → 1st base


Pick-Up Player Rules

• Teams may use up to 3 pick-up players.

• Only 1 player may be out-of-class.

Example:

If a Single A team is playing in a AA tournament, they may add:

• 3 AA players, OR

• 2 AA players and 1 AAA player

Uniform Rules for Pick-Up Players

• Players cannot wear another team’s hat or uniform.

• They must wear a matching uniform or a blank shirt.

Uniform Numbers

Uniform numbers do not matter.

If a player does not have a number, first and last name must be used on the lineup card.


Time Limits

Time limits will be determined by the site director prior to each event.

Rosters

Team rosters will freeze May 15th.

Classification

Grand Slam Arkansas will cross-check teams with other organizations, but final classification decisions will be made by Grand Slam Arkansas.

The State Director will have final say on all classifications.

Gate Fees

CASH ONLY FOR THIS EVENT

1-Day Events

• $15 Adults

• $5 Kids (6-10 years old)

2-Day Events

• $10 Adults

• $5 Kids (6–10 years old)


Additional Notes

• No special requests will be granted to play certain teams in pool play.

• Brackets may be split when the site director sees fit.
